Lu Dodson is the Park Manager of the Islamorada Area State Parks, including Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park, Indian Key Historic State Park, Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park, San Pedro Underwater Archeological Preserve, and Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail. She was formerly the Assistant Park Manager of Bill Baggs Cape Florida and has a BA in Biology from Wake Forest University. Before joining the Florida Park Service, Lu and her husband sold everything, left Key West, and spent 18 years travelling the U.S. in an RV. They volunteered for various state and federal agencies in N.C., California, Washington, Oregon, and Florida.
